JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — One woman is dead and one man is injured after an morning garage fire.
It happened around 10 a.m. near Diamond St. and Anna St.
Jacksonville Police Department said, when first responders arrived they found the garage in flames. Officers contacted the homeowner who advised there was a woman inside the garage.
Firefighters put out the fire and found the woman dead.
Police said, one man was taken to the hospital for smoke related injuries.
No word on how the fire started.
The State Fire Marshall and Morgan County Coroner's office are investigating.
