DE LAND, Ill. (WAND) — One person died and four were sent to the hospital following a crash near De Land Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to a two car collision at the corner of 2500 North Road and 800 East Road at 3:21 p.m.
According to the Piatt County Sheriff's Office, 44-year-old Jason Sharp drove through a yield sign and 50-year-old Joshua Beck crashing into the side of Sharp's car, which rolled over.
Sharp had three passengers, two women and one man.
Sharp and two of his passengers went to Carle Hospital in Urbana by ambulance, while the third passenger was airlifted to Carle.
Joshua Beck was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police issued Sharp multiple citations, and the investigation is ongoing.
