ST. LOUIS (KSDK) -Â A shooting inside St. Louis Lambert International Airport's Terminal 1 left one person dead early Friday morning, WAND reporting partner KSDK reports.Â
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting happened about 1 a.m. and involved Lambert Airport Police. The suspect was shot and later died.Â
No other injuries have been reported.
Inside the airport, 5 On Your Side saw a crime scene near the American Airlines ticketing counter.
Lambert posted on X that the Terminal 1 MetroLink station is currently closed. Passengers are being rerouted to Terminal 2, where shuttles are available from the upper level at Door 2. Terminal 1 passenger pickup has been moved to Door 6 on the upper level.
Airlines operating out of Terminal 1 include Air Canada, Alaska, American, Cape Air, Delta, Frontier, Sun Country, Spirit and United.
The shooting comes on the first day of the holiday travel season at Lambert Airport, with TSA projecting more than 19,700 passengers will pass through St. Louis security checkpoints on Friday.
