CARROLLTON, Ill. (WAND) - 11 students and one teacher were hurt when a school bus crashed in Carrollton, Illinois Wednesday.Â
Illinois State Police told WAND News it happened at 3:48 p.m. on N US Highway 67, just south of NE 400 Street.Â
ISP said a North Greene school bus was going north on U.S. 67 when another vehicle going southbound crossed the center line on a curve.Â
The bus driver swerved and drove onto the shoulder of the road. The bus left the road to the right and hit the ditch embankment, causing the bus to roll over onto its side.
11 students and one staff member were taken by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
All lanes of U.S. 67 were shut down and reopened at approximately 8 p.m.Â
