DECATUR - The Decatur Park District has announced the 80th Annual Lantern Parade will kick off in Fairview Park on August 3.
Officials say festivities begin with a magician and lantern making at 5:30 p.m., and will continue throughout the evening. We've included a schedule of planned activities below:
- 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.: Magician
- 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.: Lantern Making
- 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.: Greater Decatur Youth Band
- 6:30 p.m.: Yellow Hat Recognition, Group Photo
- 6:45 p.m. until 7:15 p.m.: Jump Rope Demo
- 7:15 p.m. until 8:15 p.m.: Activity Stations (soccer, lacrosse, Crossfit, obstacle course, relay
races, jump rope, bondoogle)
- 8:30 p.m. until 8:45 p.m.: Lantern Parade
