COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND)- An 88-year-old woman was flown to Carle Foundation Hospital for injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash in Coles County.Â
According to the Coles County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a crash at the intersection of 1000N and 500E, Wednesday morning around 9:01 a.m.
Authorities say Ruby Helm, 88, of Mattoon was traveling north bound on county road 500E at 1000N, when she failed to stop at the stop sign causing Micah Moore, 23, of Cerro Gordo to crash into the passenger side of her vehicle.
Moore was traveling on east bound on county road 1000 north.
Helm was to the hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident.
At this time no further information has been released.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
