Ambulance code on council agenda

Decatur, Ill (WAND) – The Decatur City Council will vote Monday to bring its ambulance code in-line with current industry standards.

“We’re really just bringing our ordinance in-line with what we feel would present the best requirements for our community as it relates to emergency response,” said Interim City Manager Billy Tyus.  Tyus says the changes have nothing to do with the current ambulance service being provided in the city.

There will not be a fee increase for ambulance services to operate in Decatur.  The fee will remain at $400.

Decatur Ambulance Service is currently the only ambulance service in the city.  Arrow Ambulance has an application to provide service in Decatur pending.
