ATWOOD, Ill. (WAND) — Arrest warrants have been issued for the suspicious death of a woman in Atwood.
On Aug. 19, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office got a call of an unresponsive woman in the 200 block of N. Iowa St. in Atwood. When emergency crews arrived, they found 21-year-old Meyha Evans dead inside the home.
Officers said the circumstances surrounding Evans' death were suspicious but no further details were provided.

After a two month investigation by the Atwood Police Department, and review of the case by Douglas County State’s Attorney Robert Kosic, two arrest warrants were issued.
Matthew Arbuckle was served with arrest warrants for concealment of death and obstructing justice at the Coles County Jail, where he was being held for a probation violation.
An arrest warrant was also issued for Haylee Bowles for obstructing justice but she has not yet been located.
Atwood PD said that new information found during the Meyha Evans death investigation, along with other factors, prompted the department to reopen the investigation into the death of Eian Urban, a 19-year-old man who died on Jan. 20 of this year.
