DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - An arson investigation is underway after a house catches fire.
According to the Decatur Fire Department at 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, crews were called to the 1800 block of N. Church St. for a report of a house fire.
When crews arrived they found fire coming from the front of the home.
Firefighters were able to get the flames under control and searched the home for any victims.
According to DFD, there was a previous altercation and fire at the home, so Decatur Police were called to file an arson report. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was requested to conduct an arson investigation.
While fighting the fire, crews were also called to another house on fire on W. Hunt St.
The N. Church St. house fire is considered suspicious and is under investigation.
