TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WAND) - Indiana first responders responded to a plane crash on Regional Airport property, Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the Terre Haute Police Department, just before 2 p.m. on Thursday, Regional Airport Authorities, the Terre Haute Police Department, Indiana State Police, Terre Haute Fire Department, Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Seeleyville Fire Department, and TransCare responded to the crash. 
 
Police said that airport personnel quickly assisted both occupants and secured the aircraft following the incident.

The Terre Haute Fire Department coordinated medical care, and one of the pilots was transported by Lifeline due to injuries sustained in the crash.
 
It's unclear what caused the plane to crash or if it was taking off or attempting a landing at the airport.

The airport has been temporarily closed at this time. The Terre Haute Police Department is currently preserving the scene.

The FAA has been notified and is on its way to take control of the investigation.
