(WAND) - A warm-up is on the way to Central Illinois, but we still have more brutal cold to deal with first.
Sunshine returns today as temperatures creep upwards to around 10°. However, brisk winds will make it feel like single and double digits below zero.

Southwesterly winds kick in and temperatures rise overnight and approach 30° Wednesday with more sunshine.
A weather disturbance drops in with some light snow Wednesday night into early Thursday, mainly north. Highs Thursday will be well into the 20s.
A more organized system brings a widespread light snow event Thursday evening into Friday morning. A few inches of snow may fall with this one.
Temperatures plunge again Friday and Saturday to highs from around 10° to the teens and overnight lows in the single digits below and above zero. Winds will make it feel even colder.
A warming trend kicks in Sunday that lasts into early next week.
