CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) – The Chatham Community Fire Protection District received a $15,000 grant from Energy Transfer’s First Responder Fund.
The grant was awarded to the department at a ceremony on Monday.
Chatham CFPD officials and representatives from Energy Transfer were at Monday night's ceremony for the check presentation.Â
According to fire district leaders, the funds have been used to get gas meters and thermal imaging cameras. These cameras enhance the department’s ability to detect hazardous gases and improve responses.
