Coroner releases name of Mattoon man who died after I-74 crash

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.

The Vermilion County Coroner has released the name of a man who died after a crash on Interstate 74 Saturday.

22-year-old Dylan L. Clark of Mattoon was hit after his vehicle crashed in the westbound lanes near mile marker 199.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The Illinois State Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.

FITHIAN, Ill. (WAND) — A multi-vehicle crash left one person dead and two people hurt.

It happened near the Fithian exit on Interstate 74 around 7:45 p.m. Saturday.

Illinois State Police said a Chevy Cobalt was driving west when it lost control, crashed, and was then hit by an oncoming Lexus.

The driver and passenger of the Lexus were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

The driver of the Chevy Cobalt was standing in front of his vehicle and was hit by his vehicle when it was struck by the Lexus.

He died from his injuries.
