DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Two suspects have been arrested for their role in a November 2025 shooting in Decatur, with one of them found across the country. 

Decatur police said 22-year-old Michael Swanson Jr. and a 17-year-old suspect were arrested for the shooting that left an 18-year old man hurt

Police stated that Swanson was found in DeKalb County, Georgia, almost 500 miles from Decatur. The teen was arrested in Decatur Jan. 21 and taken to the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center. 

The teen's identity has not yet been released due to their age. 

Decatur police responded to the 1700 block of East Lawrence Street before 6:45 a.m. Nov. 2 after receiving multiple reports of shots fired in the area.

The 18-year-old was shot inside his vehicle, and later drove himself to the hospital, while his car was damaged from bullets.
