Crash at Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The 86-year old woman who was sent to the hospital after a vehicle drove into a nursing home facility in Mattoon has died. 

According to the Champaign County coroner, Carol A. Wilson, of Mattoon was pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital on May 10. 

On May 2, Wilson was seriously injured when a vehicle driven by Curtis Meadows crashed into the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home.

The crash also claimed the life of 82-year-old Sharon Harpster. 

During a preliminary hearing on Monday, Meadows entered a plea of not guilty to charges for aggravated DUI causing death and reckless homicide with a motor vehicle. His next court appearance is scheduled for May, 19.
