NIANTIC, Ill. (WAND) - A man charged with setting his house on fire and damaging a car in April has pleaded guilty.Â
Court records stated that Jessie McDaniel was placed on 24 months' probation.
He must register as an arsonist for 10 years.Â
The Macon County Sheriff's Office was called for a welfare check on McDaniel April 11 after a caller said he was smashing a car's windows with a bat. About 10 minutes later, another caller said McDaniel had set his house on fire.Â
Deputies detained McDaniel when they arrived.Â
