LINCOLN, Ill. (WAND) - A man charged with aggravated DUI following a two-vehicle crash that killed an older woman in Lincoln earlier this year was sentenced to time behind bars.Â
According to Logan County court records, 38-year-old Shaun Cook was sentenced to nine months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.Â
Lincoln police said officers responded to a two-vehicle crash just before 9:45 p.m. May 19 near North Logan Street and Peoria St.
Police found an SUV and a minivan severely damaged. During an investigation, Lincoln police found that the SUV had rammed into the minivan from behind.Â
A minivan passenger, later identified as 66-year-old Christine Shaub, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.Â
Cook, who drove the SUV, was later arrested after being released from the hospital.
