DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Decatur police were called to Eisenhower High School Thursday for a fight involving several students, according to a DPS61 spokesperson.
Decatur Public Schools Spokeswoman Maria Robertson told WAND that police used pepper spray to break up a "student altercation." She did not say what led to the fight or how many students were involved.
DPS directed WAND to Decatur police for more information.
DPD has not responded to multiple requests for information.
It's not clear if anyone was hurt.
Classrooms near the hallway where pepper spray was used were relocated for the day.
DPS said the high school was never placed on lockdown. It's not clear if any students are facing disciplinary actions.
The school district is expected to release more information Thursday.
