SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - A Springfield man was arrested late Tuesday afternoon for an attempted kidnapping of a young child.Â
The Springfield Park District posted on Facebook that Park District police were called at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday about an attempted kidnapping of a two-year-old boy at Kiwanis Park.
After an investigation, the Park District arrested 34-year-old Rodly Pierre of Springfield on probable cause.Â
Pierre was arrested at the park on charges of attempted kidnapping, aggravated battery, unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct.Â
He was eventually moved to the Sangamon County Jail.Â
