URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - The man convicted of killing two women in a drunk driving crash in Urbana earlier this year is now facing federal charges.
According to federal court records, Julio Cucul-Bol is charged with four crimes, including possession of a false permanent resident card, a false social security card, making a false statement on an application and false use of a passport.Â
Cucul-Bol pleaded not guilty to the charges.Â
Police say the crash happened on Jan. 19 at the intersection of University Avenue and Coler Avenue in Urbana when Cucul-Bol rear-ended a vehicle that had slowed for a traffic light.
Two passengers died from their injuries in the crash, as police said Cucul-Bol fled the scene without stopping. He was later arrested in Texas.Â
Cucul-Bol is due back in court Jan. 30, with a jury selection/jury trial set for February.Â
