URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A 40-year-old woman has been arrested for a March crash that killed a 2-month-old baby and injured several others. 

Kartila Brooks was arrested on Friday on charges of aggravated DUI and DUI - drugs.

The crash happened on March 13 at the intersection of Philo Road and Colorado Avenue. According to police, Brooks was traveling on Colorado Avenue when she failed to stop at an intersection. This caused a crash that led to the death of a 2-month-old. In addition, the baby's two two siblings and mother were taken to a hospital with injuries.

Illinois State Police conducted drug testing as part of their investigation and results from Brooks' tests showed that her blood contained THC over the legal limit.

Brooks was transported to the Champaign County Jail where she awaits a detention hearing.
