DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Decatur Saturday morning.

According to the Decatur Police Department, officers responded to the crash near the intersection of East Locust and North Illinois Streets just before 11:30 a.m.

Police said a 29-year-old Decatur man was driving in reverse on Locust Street when he ran a stop sign at the intersection. The man then drove off the road on the north side of the 1000 block of East Locust Street, before driving through a fence and crashing into a parked, detached semi-trailer.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police said there was no indication that the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Members of the fatal accident investigation team are still investigating the crash.
