TOLONO, Ill. (WAND) - An 18-year-old woman is charged with first-degree murder following a September 2025 crash near Tolono.

Prosecutors said that Sophia Stewart caused a crash that killed 34-year-old Steven Stumborg of Tolono. 

Illinois State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash just around 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at US 45 at 600N. 

The road was shut down for several hours after the crash.

A charging document said that Stewart could face 20 to 60 years behind bars if convicted.
