DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Two friends who grew up in Decatur are now the owners of a popular downtown brewery.
Bob Besser and Skyler Kaufman purchased Decatur Brew Works from Dreux Lewandowski. Lewandowski opened the brewery in January 2016 and signed over the establishment to Besser and Kaufman this week.
“Craft beer is all about community,” Kaufman said. "There’s a rich history and tradition here at Brew Works and we’re excited to expand on that.”
Most of the beer sold at Decatur Brew Works in brewed in house.

The pair will launch with their first big event this Saturday. Oktoberfest will feature Brew Works’ own fall beers, music, food and stein holding starting at 4pm. Decatur Brew Works is located at 102 E. William Street in Decatur.
