DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Fire Department was able to quickly take care of a fire at a house in the 1600 block of North Oakland Avenue Wednesday morning.
According to DFD, witnesses called in reporting flames from the house and someone possibly trapped inside. When crews arrived around 9:15 a.m., there were heavy flames coming from a window near the kitchen.
Crews extinguished the kitchen fire from a rear door. The home was searched, but was found to be empty at the time of the fire. All DFD units were back in service in less than two hours.
