DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Fire Department responded to two house fires back to back Thursday afternoon.

Around 2:11 p.m., crews were dispatched to the 900 block of N. Hill Ave for a first floor electrical fire. The first engine company attacked the fire and quickly brought it under control while other crews ventilated and searched. Three adults and two children were displaced.

While crews were wrapping up on Hill Ave., DFD responded to another fire on East Dr.

When they arrived on the scene, smoke could be seen coming from the basement of the home. The first engines encountered heavy smoke and heat, but were able to knock the fire down. The truck company ventilated basement windows and searched the first floor.

This fire also appeared to be electrical in nature.

No injuries were reported at either scene.
