DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A Decatur man has been arrested after the victim of a hit and run crash died as a result of their injuries.Â
Brandon T. Blue, 40, was booked into the Macon County Jail on charges of reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.Â
On Sept. 27, Decatur Police responded to Oakland and Cerro Gordo for crash between a bicyclist and a driver.Â
The 52-year-old bicyclist, a Decatur resident, was riding south in the 700 block of N. Oakland. Decatur Police said Blue was driving in the same direction and hit the cyclist.Â
Police said Blue drove off and stopped on Cerro Gordo after the vehicle hit a curb and became disabled. He then left on foot, they said.Â
The cyclist was airlifted to a trauma center. He died on September 30 as a result of injuries sustained in the crash, DPD said.Â
