MARION, Ill. (WAND) - A Decatur woman has been crowned Miss Illinois 2024.
Breana Bagley, 26, of Decatur won the title of Miss Illinois 2024 Saturday evening in Marion following five days of interviews, performances and rehearsals.
She competed as Miss Land of Lincoln and was selected from a field of 28 candidates.
“I will dedicate my year to my Community Service Initiative, which is defying pancreatic and rare disease,” Bagley said. “I am a chairwoman with the National Organization for Rare Disorders and a partner with the National Pancreas Foundation, so I will be using my year to further the cause of pancreatic disease.”
Bagley, an attorney with the law firm of Sandburg Phoenix, will spend the next year traveling throughout the state to attend special events and promoting her social community initiative.
In addition to the title and crown, she wins a minimum $10,000 in scholarships and will represent Illinois at the Miss America competition later this year.
“It feels unreal,” she said. “I feel incredible and really honored to be Miss Illinois 2024.”
