Deputies looking for hit-and-run driver after woman struck and killed by vehicle in Piatt County

PIATT COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Deputies are looking for a hit-and-run driver after a woman was struck by a vehicle and killed in Piatt County. 

The Piatt County Sheriff's Office was called to 1900 North 1300 East Rd. Sunday around 2:30 p.m. for a woman who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. 

Deputies found a 39-year-old woman in critical condition. She was rushed to Carle Hospital in Urbana by ambulance where she passed away. 

The Piatt County Sheriff’s Office and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
