DECATUR, Ill. (WAND)- Decatur Public Schools are taking the steps to go green!
During Tuesday night's board meeting members heard a pitch from energy advisors NANIA.
The consultants recommend the district install solar panel projects on the following six school campuses:Â
- The New Ellsworth Dansby Junior Magnet School
- Franklin Grove Elementary
- Hope Academy
- Muffley Elementary
- Stephen Decatur Middle School
- Eisenhower High School
The power purchase agreement would include no upfront cost to the district, and could then buy power at a reduced rate. Board members will vote later this month whether to begin the process of requesting proposals from solar providers.
