Macon County Clerk's Office looking for election judges

MACON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) – Over 9,000 people have voted early in Macon County as the final week before Election Day comes to an end.

Macon County Clerk Steve Bean says the county has processed a total of 9,179 grace voting, early voting, nursing home and vote-by-mail ballots as of Friday night. That number is several thousand less than the 13,811 votes cast before Election Day in Macon County during the 2016 Presidential Election.

Bean says the county has fever registered voters in 2018 (75,219) than it did in 2016 (76,226).

Election Day is Tuesday. Polls are open on that date from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Macon County. The County Clerk’s office, located at 141 S. Main St. in Room 104 in Decatur, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Bean is reminding people that it’s still possible to register to vote. More information can be found here or by calling (217)424-1333.
