SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Two area colleges received Innovative Bridge and Transition (IBT) grants to help strengthen education-to-career pathways for Illinois residents.

The Illinois Community College Board (ICCB), the state coordinating organization for the Illinois Community College System, said that the grants are awarded to several community colleges statewide.

Lake Land College in Mattoon received $60,751.04, while Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield got $300,000.

"The [IBT] Grant Program continues to be one of our most powerful tools for opening doors to education and career opportunities across Illinois," said ICCB Executive Director Brian Durham in a statement.

"These grants support a range of providers in building strong, seamless pathways that help learners gain the skills they need, connect with in-demand industries and ultimately achieve long-term economic mobility," Durham continued.
