BEMENT, Ill. (WAND) — Bement CUSD 5 announced that their schools will have a remote learning day on Monday due to ongoing heating issues in the main portion of the building.

The school district said the decision was made to ensure the comfort and safety of students and staff.

According to the school district, evening activities will still take place as scheduled because the gym is heated through a separate system.

Parents and students are told to keep an eye out for information from teachers and principals with specific plans and expectations for the remote learning day.

For middle school and high school students who need to pick up a Chromebook, the school district said Door 10 will be open Sunday night from 5-7 p.m.
