Tom Noonan

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Tom Noonan has been appointed Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at St. Teresa High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

Noonan will replace Matt Snyder who was recently appointed St. Teresa's new principal.

A Decatur native and alumnus of St. Teresa, Noonan returned to teach and coach in 2007 after graduating from Millikin University. He has 17 years of teaching experience in subjects like World History and American Government and earned a Master's in Educational Leadership in 2021.

Noonan was the head boys' basketball coach for 11 years, achieving a record of 205-92, and winning multiple championships, including a state championship appearance in 2015.

He has also been recognized as Coach of the Year by the Hearld and Review and coached golf and baseball. Since the 2021-2022 season, Noonan has served as an assistant coach for the Millikin Men's Basketball Program.

Mr. Noonan stated, "I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve St. Teresa High School as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. St. Teresa is a special place to me and has been my family's home for many years. I'm thankful for an opportunity to grow as a professional and serve the students, teachers, and coaches of St. Teresa High School."

Larry Daly, High School Principal stated, "Tom Noonan is dedicated to St. Teresa High School. He has been an excellent teacher, coach and role model for our students. He will be an incredible administrator for St. Teresa High School."
