SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The University of Illinois System Board of Trustees voted Thursday to approve an engineering technology degree at UIS Springfield.
The U of I System said the major will help meet employers' and the state's need for engineering technologists across the engineering field. Â
The major will debut in the fall 2027 semester.Â
According to UIS News, the 120-credit-hour degree will prepare students for careers in manufacturing, technical management, automation and other industries.Â
