CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Bromley Companies and the University of Illinois have announced plans for a new 400-bed residence hall.Â
Bromley Companies said in a press release that Bromley Commons will be a suite-style residence hall for first-year students and will be located blocks away from the main quad.Â
The company added that the hall is expected to open ahead of the fall 2027 semester, and will feature a full-service dining hall, and other amenities, including study lounges, fitness facilities and outdoor activity spaces.
The news comes after the University of Illinois System set fall enrollment records, with over 101,000 new students between its campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago and Springfield.Â
Additionally, first-year student enrollment has noticeably increased to over 9,000 in the last three years, according to Bromley Companies.Â
