Employee zip-tied during store robbery

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) – Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a Jimmy John’s on Tuesday morning.

Police say an armed suspect entered the store 2421 N. Dirksen Parkway. An employee told police the suspect had a bandana covering the lower portion of his face and was armed with a handgun.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the store safe. Police say the suspect zip-tied the store employees to a shelf and left. The employee was tied up for about an hour when another employee arrived to work.

Surveillance video shows the suspect leaving in a white Ford Explorer. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 788-8427.
