DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A father was injured, and a mother and baby escaped from a Decatur house fire Sunday. 

The Decatur Fire Department was called to a house in the 1800 block of E. Main around 4:30 p.m. Crews saw smoke and fire coming from the front door and living room. 

They were able to use a hose to quickly extinguish the fire.

There were three people home when the fire started. 

A mother and baby were able to escape unharmed. The father received some smoke inhalation injuries while trying to get out. The Decatur Fire Department said he refused medical treatment.

The home received extensive damage from the fire, and the occupants were displaced to a neighbor's house.

The American Red Cross has been called to help s as they will most likely be displaced for a period of time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Decatur Fire Department.
