CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) - Times are tough, and a community partnership is helping out the public after they receive a minor citation.

The Chatham Police Department announced on Facebook that it is teaming up with O'Reilly Auto Parts.

O'Reilly donated gift cards for officers to hand out to Chatham residents who are pulled over for simple equipment violations, which include a headlight or taillight out.

In the post, Chatham PD said that helping people is what their job is all about.
