Hungry customers greet new Chick-fil-A in Mattoon

Matton, Ill (WAND) – Patrick Ryan had to be pleased. Working alongside his team his new Chick-fil-A was filled with smiling customers inside and a nice long line of cars in the drive-up lanes all seeking out their favorite meal.

For many, it ends a long trip out of Mattoon to Champaign to get their favorite Chick-fil-A meals. Now it’s right in their hometown.

“We eat Chick-fil-A in Champaign all the time. So, we’re glad to see it here,” one customer told WAND News as she sat in her car enjoying chicken nuggets.

Ryan is the owner-operator of the Mattoon restaurant. The eatery has 105 full and part-time employees and everything was going smoothly. While customers kept commenting on how happy they were to be there.

“We’re making everything in the kitchen, whether that’s breading our chicken, hand rolling our biscuits, we make our salads to serve. So, I think we serve a great product,” Ryan stated. “We serve it with a side of genuine hospitality and people love that.”

Chick-fil-A is open Monday through Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.
