DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A man who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Danville has been identified. 

Danville Police were called to the 1500 block of N. Bowman Ave. around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29 for a vehicle versus pedestrian crash. 

Officers said they found 26-year-old Travis A. James of Danville who had been struck by a vehicle and was unresponsive. The initial investigation suggests James was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle, Danville Police said.

James was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old woman, was also located on scene and was not hurt. 

DPD contacted the Illinois State Police and requested they respond to the scene and conduct an accident reconstruction investigation.

The investigation has been turned over to ISP.

The investigation into this incident continues, and no other information is being released at this time.
