DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A man killed in an early morning shooting in east Decatur Sunday has been identified.

The Decatur Police Department said officers responded just after 4 a.m. Jan. 18 near the intersection of East Wood Street and South Maffit Street for reports of someone being shot.

That is near the Krekel's on Wood Street. 

DPD said officers found a 46-year-old man, later identified by the Macon County Coroner as Zacharia Wikoff of Decatur, who had been shot.

Wikoff was taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Police are still searching for the shooter, and the investigation is ongoing.
