DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur City Council approved a change to the city's motor fuel tax Tuesday evening.Â
Decatur currently has a five-cent tax on non-diesel fuel and a one-cent tax on diesel per gallon.
The new change will increase the diesel tax to five cents and will additionally make the tax permanent.Â
The City said revenue generated from the tax is used to maintain and improve city streets.Â
