DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — One person was taken to the hospital after being shot, and police are negotiating with a man barricaded inside a Decatur home Friday.
According to Lieutenant Scott Flannery with the Macon County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a home in the 600 block of South Wyckles Road shortly after 12 p.m.
Police said a suspect barricaded himself inside a home after shooting someone else. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Just after 1 p.m., Lieutenant Flannery told WAND News that officers are actively negotiating with the suspect inside the home.Â
Flannery said Wyckles Road is closed near the intersection with West Cantrell Street and is asking people to avoid the area.
