Richland Students ADM scholarships

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Ten Richland Community College carbon sequestration students were awarded scholarships from ADM.

According to the company, the students were recognized for their academic achievements on Feb. 18 at the National Sequestration Education Center on RCC's campus.

They are currently enrolled in Richland's Advanced Sequestration Applications course for the spring semester.

"ADM is deeply committed to the communities where we live and work, and these scholarships reflect our belief that progress happens when we support emerging talent and accelerate research. By investing in these students, we are helping develop the local workforce, as well as the technologies and practices that will define the future of carbon management," said ADM Vice President of Carbon Capture Sequestration Matt Kaloupek in a statement.

ADM said that Richland has the world's first associate's degree program with a focus on sequestration technology.

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has also accepted the associate's degree for transfer to the Bachelor of Science degree program in Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability.
