SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCIL)have announced their 2025-26 school year club sites.
The organization said they will continue serving students at multiple grant-supported schools despite "significant funding challenges."
These grant-supported schools include:
- District 186: Owen Marsh Elementary School, Ball Charter School and Sandburg Elementary School
- District 117: North Jacksonville Elementary School and Murrayville Woodson Elementary School
The BGCCIL will also maintain programming at certain schools that are not covered by federal grants thanks to community donors.
These non grant-supported schools include:
- District 186: Matheny-Withrow Elementary School and Harvard Park Elementary School
- District 117: Washington Elementary and South Elementary
"Our ability to maintain services at these five donor-supported sites is a direct result of the community's belief in our mission," said BGCCIL Chief Executive Officer Tiffany Mathis Posey. "We remain dedicated to expanding these services further, should funding and partnership opportunities arise."
Programs at all club locations will start on August 18. Families can register their children at one of the following "Back to the Club" events:
- August 7: Futures Champions Sports Complex, 5 Kelly Dr., Jacksonville, IL 12-2 p.m.
- August 14: GCCIL Central Unit, 300 S. 15th St., Springfield, IL, 12-4 p.m.
