DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – For the second time this year, the Boys & Girls Club of Decatur is temporarily suspending service.

Like many not-for-profits, the club has seen its grant funding dry up. The organization told WAND News it needs $750,000 to continue operations through next June.

“Our issue is being heavily reliant on grants,” Interim CEO Niki Fenderson said. “Not having a strategic plan … Grant amounts have been decreasing over the years.

The Boys & Girls Club hopes to raise the money through donations from individuals, businesses and foundations.
