The City of Champaign and Acclivus Inc. will host four community meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and Thursday, Oct. 30. 

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Champaign is partnering with Acclivus Inc. to host community meetings regarding street outreach and violence interruption under the City's Community Gun Violence Reductions Blueprint (CGVRB). 

The City of Champaign and Acclivus will host four community meetings on Wednesday, Oct. 29, and Thursday, Oct. 30. 

Champaign residents can attend any of the following meetings:

  • Oct. 29: from 4-5 p.m. at the Providence at Thornberry; from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Y on the Fly
  • Oct. 30: from 2-3 p.m. at the Champaign Public Library; from 5-6 p.m. at the Housing Authority of Champaign County

The City stated that the meetings will provide the community with information on street outreach goals/objectives for Champaign, hiring opportunities for street outreach and violence interruption, and a chance to meet with Acclivus staff and leadership. 

According to its website, Acclivus is a Chicago-based organization that works towards supporting community health and well-being for those most vulnerable to violence and other negative social challenges.
