CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is offering emergency shelter at its facility in preparation for severe storms Wednesday.

The shelter will be operational from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or until conditions are safe.

The location is 201 West Kenyon Road, Champaign. The entrance to the shelter will be at the south loading dock. Signs will direct people on where to go.

The shelter is accessible to all residents. CUPHD is urging people to bring important documents, medications, phone charges, and any medical equipment needed. 

There will be basic amenities available, including restrooms, drinking water, real-time weather updates and staff available to help.
