DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Finding ways to tackle crime in Decatur.
Several Decatur City Council members hosted a session of the Community Connections forum Monday night.
The forum focused on poverty and safety in the city, and offered resources and information for those struggling with paying their bills.
The hosts also asked for community input on ways to improve safety in the community.
"We believe that it's important that the community is involved, that we always hear their feedback. So we can hear from them as far as what we're facing in our city. So we need a forum like this so that the community knows that their input is important to what happens in the city," said Decatur City Councilman Dennis Cooper.
Those who missed the forum can watch previous meetings on the Decatur Connections YouTube channel.
